In September 2022, for two days, project partners of Green Arctic Building (GrAB) visited Department of Applied Physics and Electronics, Umeå University. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss in detail about the various project activities and to share experiences.

The GrAB project https://site.uit.no/grab/ aims to contribute in providing a sustainable urban environment in the northern regions based on the use of “green building” practices and tools.
The project (2019–2022) is co-financed by the Kolarctic CBC, Kolarctic Norway, Nordland County. The meeting in Umeå was the first physical partner meeting since the Covid pandemic. The meeting involved researchers from three partners, Norway (The Arctic University of Norway), Finland (Oulu University) and Sweden (Umeå University)
In this project, researchers from TFE carried out studies such as comparison of Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish and Russian building codes, investigation of phase change materials on the heat transfer performance of buildings, uncertainty in model prediction of energy savings in building retrofits.
