Bildmuseet opens on Sunday 16 September with four new exhibitions: Isaac Julien – TRUE NORTH, Paola Yacoub and Michel Lasserre – NYHETSBREV, FUSEKI, Veronica Brovall and Anneke Eussen.
A press conference will take place on Friday with the abovementioned artists in attendance. Additionally, a two-day international symposium has been arranged for Saturday 15 September 10.00–18.00 and Sunday 16 September 10.00–13.00 in conjunction with the exhibition by Issac Julien – True North. It will offer interdisciplinary approaches to and multiple perspectives on current polar research.
True North: Polar Productions: Histories, Concepts and Visions of the North is organised by Bildmuseet, Northern Studies and Foreign North, Umeå University. The symposium is supported by the Swedish Committee to the International Polar Year.
