The study "Sustainability-oriented EU Taxes: The Example of a European Carbon-based Flight Ticket Tax" was now awarded the Mobility Award 2017 in the category "research projects" of the Austrian Traffic Club.
Air traffic is increasing, as well as carbon emissions - with considerable environmentally harmful effects. How the EU could react to this challenge by introducing a carbon-based flight ticket tax, was analysed in the study "Sustainability-oriented EU Taxes: The Example of a European Carbon-based Flight Ticket Tax" by FairTax researchers Margit Schratzenstaller and Alexander Krenek.
