At a Breakout session at the European Forum Alpbach, FairTax researcher Margit Schratzenstaller argued for an EU-wide harmonisation of corporate taxation, effective minimum energy tax rates, and sustainability-oriented tax-based own resources for the EU budget.
The breakout session on “Competition versus Coordination of economic policy in the EU” covered a range of policy areas and provided a forum for a lively discussion, to which also Agnés Bénassy-Quéré (Paris School of Economics and Chair of the French Council of Economic Analysis), Sonja Puntscher-Riekmann (Salzburg University and coordinator of the H2020 project EMUChoices), Karl Pichelmann (European Kommission), and Karl Steininger (Graz University) contributed.
