Cancer Society millions to researchers within UCMR

Five research leaders within the Umeå Centre for Microbial Research, UCMR, receive grants of nearly 14 million SEK in the Swedish Cancer Society allocation in autumn 2023.

In total 224 project supported were supported by Cancerfonden. The grants are for three years.
Felipe Cava receives 2.4 million SEK to the project: The role of microbiota-derived non-canonical D-amino acids in intestinal homeostasis and colorectal cancer.
Teresa Frisan receives 2.4 million SEK to the project: Deciphering the immune and genetic landscape in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma for patient stratification.
Johan Henriksson receives 2.4 million SEK to the project: Dissecting human T cell exhaustion using a new single-cell telomere length measurement protocol.
Richard Lundmark receives 3 million SEK to the project: Mechanisms of altered metabolism in triple negative breast cancer.
Sun Nyunt Wai receives 3.75 million SEK to the project: Role of secreted bacterial factors in modulation of host cell signaling and in carcinogenesis.
