Wallenberg Scholars is a programme designed to support and encourage some of the most successful researchers at Swedish universities. These funds provides an opportunity for Lotta to invest in bolder and more long-term projects and hopefully will be able get an even better international impact for her research.
Lotta has previously described the Arctic dimension of her research like this:
"I make use of demographic data and methods to gain knowledge about gendered and socio-economic issues that confronted vulnerable layers of historical populations in northern Sweden, such as paupers, offenders and disabled people, and to some extent also indigenous individuals, i.e. the Sami."
