The publication fee (APC, article processing charge) is paid by the library via an agreement between the library and Portland Press. This applies to open access publishing in all Biochemical Society journals published by Portland Press.
Terms and conditions
You must be the corresponding author, i.e. the one handling communication with the publisher and journal.
Your Umeå University affiliation must be stated in the published article.
Use your email address ending in @umu.se. The email domain is used to recognise your eligibility.
The agreement covers all article types that require a publication fee.
The agreement applies to articles submitted to the publisher in 2024 or 2025 (“submitted date” during 2024-2025).
Your article will be published under a CC BY license.
The agreement does not cover additional charges, such as page charges or charges for colour illustrations.
