Umeå University researchers can publish open access at no cost in the majority of BMJ journals. Read more about the terms of our agreement with the publisher for 2024 and what it means for you here.
The open access publishing fee (APC, article processing charge) has been pre-paid through an agreement between the library and BMJ. The agreement applies to journals included in BMJ Standard Collection, BMJ Non-standard Collection and BMJ Gold OA Journals.
Terms and conditions
You must be the corresponding author, i.e. the one handling communication with the publisher and journal.
Your Umeå University affiliation must be stated in the published article.

The agreement applies to original articles reporting on primary research in all journals. For a detailed list of article types per journal see: BMJ title list and article types 2024.
Your article will be published under a CC BY or CC BY-NC license, depending on the journal. Use the open access discount search to see the license options for each journal.
