Vice-Chancellor Hans Adolfsson thanked the students for their time at Umeå University and personally handed over a congratulatory scroll. The ceremony was followed by mingle and light refreshments.
This year's student speaker was Amy Nwoku. She earned a Master's Degree in Public Health with a specialization in Health Economics. Amy spoke about her educational journey as a medical doctor from Nigeria to postgraduate studies at Umeå University.
The alumni speaker was Kalle Grill, Associate Professor at the Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies, who shared philosophical ideas and encouraged all graduates to take the time to celebrate, relax and feel proud about their accomplishments.

2023
On 25 May 2023, students from 43 international master’s programmes were honoured at the annual Graduation Ceremony held at Umeå University. There was a record number of students in attendance with over 260 students from more than 50 countries.
2022
For the first time since 2019, Umeå University’s Graduation Ceremony for International Master's Programmes was celebrated in Aula Nordica, Campus Umeå. Almost 170 students from nearly 50 countries and 32 programmes attended the celebration along with 300 guests.
