Research Ethics for Postdocs and Researchers in Medicine

The course Research Ethics for Postdocs and Researchers in Medicine has been developed jointly by the medical faculties in Sweden and is an online education to increase awareness of research ethics and highlight the importance of an ethical approach in research.

For the Faculty of Medicine the dean has decided that the course Research Ethics for Postdocs and Researchers in Medicine is mandatory for doctoral researchers who do not have a Swedish doctoral degree and who are engaged in research in some form (including post-doc) within the faculty. The overall goal of the course is to provide an overview of research ethics and an introduction to the ethical guidelines and legislation that researchers in Sweden must follow. The education is given in English.

The course must be completed within nine months of starting research activities at the Faculty of Medicine.

The course is available online completely free of charge and is given by Uppsala University. The course is not creditable.

The course is also open to others who are interested in research ethics.
