When a course is no longer to be given, it can be discontinued in Selma. Here you will find the faculty's routines regarding the discontinuation of course plans.
The closure means that it is no longer possible to create course opportunities for the course and consequently no new students can be registered on the course (the course syllabus does not disappear from the course syllabus search, however). Before the course can be discontinued, the body that established the curriculum (Education Strategy Board or alternatively a program council) must make a decision to discontinue the curriculum.
The application for discontinuation of the course must contain information about:
semester for the start of the settlement period
semester for the last examination opportunity
background to the decision on liquidation
transitional provisions
The course's examiner is tasked with developing a plan for examination during the winding-up period (unless something is stated in the course plan, there is no limit on how long a student can request to be examined).
If the course is part of one or more programs, all those concerned must be contacted well in advance of the planned closure and all parties must have agreed on how the plan for closure should proceed.
If the course is aimed at students at other faculties, the relevant faculties must be contacted well in advance of a planned discontinuation and all parties must have agreed on how the plan for discontinuation should proceed.
After a decision has been made on liquidation:
The department responsible for the course/programme council must notify students who did not complete the course with an approved result about termination.
The course administration at the relevant institution deletes the course in Selma, which means that the course is saved in the course archive, but no new course opportunity can be created and no new students can be registered on the course.
Anna Lundberg at the faculty office must be notified so that further processing in Selma can take place.
