A wide selection of freestanding humanities courses are offered in around thirty linguistic and historical-philosophical subjects. Some of them can be studied in English.
The Faculty of Arts offers hundreds of freestanding humanities courses, in basic and advanced levels, in the following subjects:
Aesthetic, Archaeology/Environmental Archaeology, Comparative Literature, Drama-Theatre-Film, Ethnology, Fine Arts, History/History of Science and Ideas, Information Technology for the Humanities, Language Studies (English, Finnish, French, Russian, Spanish, German, and the Scandinavian Languages including the Sami Languages), Linguistics, Media and Communication Studies, Museology, Philosophy, Religion, Sami Studies, Theology and Theory of Art.
