The Centre for Environmental and Resource Economics celebrates 10 years of activities on November 28th 2019. The celebration includes talks reflecting on CERE, climate, forests, transport and the environment from both young CERE researchers and guest speakers.
Presentations by CERE’s young researchers:
10.00-12.00 (fika is served at 9.30) At the Balcony of Library at Umeå University
Presentations by guest speakers:
13.30-16.30 (fika is served around 15.00) Ljusgården, Lärarhuset at Umeå University
Guest speakers include Mårten Larsson, The Forest Industries Association; Jurate Jaraite, Vilnius University and CERE, expert on emissions trading; Svante Mandell, Head of the Environmental Economics Unit, National Institute of Economic Research; and Eva Samakovlis, Head of the Research Department at the Swedish Tax Agency. CERE’s young researchers will guide you through the waste incineration market, electricity conservation, wind on the electricity market and people’s flexibility when it comes to using electricity. The talks are open to all.

About: CERE is a cooperation between the Department of Economics at Umeå University and the Department of Forest Economics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Over the course of these 10 years CERE has researched, among other things, issues regarding renewable energy, electricity markets, management of forests and other natural resources, emissions trading, environmental taxation, how climate change affects society, and the waste incineration market.
