How can we make work-related travel more sustainable, efficient, and hassle-free? This workshop focuses on practical solutions and collective brainstorming to align our travel practices with our responsibilities as academics.
Karolina Eriksson, a postdoctoral researcher from the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science (EMG), will share insights on how EMG has approached this topic and taken the first step towards developing an internal sustainable travel policy. The university's travel coordinator, Annica Lindmark, will share her top tips for simplifying the booking process, especially for train journeys. She will also cover how to travel internationally with an Interrail pass.
The workshop will conclude with a group discussion aimed at drafting a "Christmas Wish List"—a collection of ideas to support and encourage sustainable business travel at Umeå University.
