Welcome to a seminar on Teaching Sabbatical - a programme by STINT (the Foundation for the Internationalization of Higher Education and Research) that gives gives researchers and lecturers, who are passionate about teaching issues, the opportunity to teach abroad.
Matilda Uhrström, programme manager at STINT, tells us about the programme and former fellows tell us about their experiences of having applied for, and participated in, the Teaching Sabbatical.
If necessary, the seminar can be given in English.
Registration
You need to register to the event no later than April 4. When registering, please indicate if you want to participate on site or via Zoom.
STINT collaborates with selected universities based in the USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. As a participant in Teaching Sabbatical, you will stay at a university abroad and teach during an autumn semester (August – December). The intention is for you to teach, either by giving a course on your own or co-teach with a colleague at the host institution ("co-teaching").
STINT Teaching Sabbatical is based on a nomination process where the director of studies or head of department can nominate interested candidates for the International Office. An internal review then takes place before Umeå University nominates 2-3 candidates for STINT. The last day to send in your application to the International Office is August 15, 2022.
