The profile area - Sport, physical activity, and health psychology - are hosting Professor Leslie Podlog, Faculty of Medicine - School of Kinesiology and Physical Activity Sciences, Université de Montréal and the Children’s Hospital Sainte-Justine Research Centre in Montreal, Canada. He will be delivering a ‘lecture’, titled:

Psychological Aspects of Sport Injury: Social, Developmental, and Clinical Considerations

 

Professor Leslie Podlog’s research examines the key psychosocial factors influencing injury rehabilitation and return to full function in diverse populations (elite and adolescent athletes, military personnel, individuals with neurological disorders). His studies focus upon the impact of behavioral interventions on improving injury rehabilitation outcomes, such as personal well-being, optimal performance, and personal growth after injury. He has held faculty positions at the University of Utah, Texas Tech University, Charles Sturt University (Australia), and the German Sport University, Cologne. He completed his doctoral studies in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Western Australia, in Perth Australia.
