Experimental Surveys for Investigation of Ethnic Relations: Case of Japan and the UK
You are warmly invited to a seminar with Kikuko Nagayoshi, University of Tokyo and Akira Igarashi, Osaka University.
Abstract In this presentation, Kikuko Nagayoshi and Akira Igarashi will share their recent research on ethnic relationships in Japan and the U.K. Their work relies on the conjoint survey method, which has recently become popular in the study of prejudice and discrimination. Kikuko Nagayoshi examines whether the ethnoracial ascription of a candidate influences the employers' hiring intention in Japan. Akira Igarashi explores if immigrants' social relationships with others influence host citizens' attitudes toward them in the U.K.
