How does the Caribbean Creole Cuisine advertise to the Ladywood Constituency's Superdiversity Scene?
The research examines how Caribbean restaurants and takeaways in the Ladywood constituency of Birmingham use signage to attract its superdiverse audience. Using the Visual Grammar Framework, a linguistics method, the research explores how visual elements such as food images, colouring, delivery service symbols and halal wording help these eateries connect with superdiverse communities. It also examines how superdiversity could potentially further creolisation of the food itself, through the adaption to Birmingham and the Ladywood constituency.
