The north of Sweden has become a focal point for a green industrial transformation. Energy production, battery production, mining, and green steel are some of the activities that are expected to contribute to a transformation to a more sustainable society.
However, these developments are dependent on an increased use of natural resources and land areas. There is also an increased need for people and societal services, which will put an increased strain on the municipalities that have to provide this.
The purpose of this seminar is to discuss some of the challenges the ongoing green transformation is providing, and how the university may contribute in addressing these challenges and knowledge gaps.
