In the autumn term of 2022, the first doctoral students will start within Umeå University's Arctic Graduate School with a focus on sustainable development.
To welcome the new doctoral students and give an introduction to Arctic research at Umeå University, the graduate school invites you to an all-day kickoff on September 1.
During the afternoon between 14:00 and 15:00, all who are interested are welcome to take part in an open session with short presentations.
Program for the open session
14.00–14.15: The head of the Arctic graduate school, Linda Lundmark, gives an introductory presentation.
14.15–14.30: Keith Larson, Director of the Arctic Center at Umeå University (Arcum), speaks about Arctic research from Arcum's perspective
14:30–14:45: Dieter Müller, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of research and postgraduate education within the social sciences and humanities, speaks about Arctic research from Umeå University's perspective
14:45-15:00: Peter Sköld, Advisor to the Vice-Chancellor in Arctic and international issues, speaks about Arctic research from an international perspective.
