In a mix of atmospheric pop, jojk and improvisation, Katarina Barruk sings about everything from love to the struggle for one´s own language. Always based on what it is like to be a young Sami woman today. Katarina writes and sings in umesami, the language originally spoken by the sami people in Ubmeje/Umeå.
She performs at Culture on campus with her trio, consisting of Katarina herself, Arnljot Nordvik (NO) on guitar and Christer Jørgensen (NO) on percussion.
