Opening of the library's new premises at Umeå Arts Campus

The opening week will begin with a speech by Vice-Chancellor Hans Adolfsson on Monday 23 January at 13:00. During the week there will be several lectures by the various activities at Umeå Arts Campus. The University Library will be present to answer questions about publishing, bookbinding, archives and special collections, databases and more.

University support services such as ICT Services, University Health, Church on Campus and the Student Union will also be on hand.

Programme during the week:

Monday 23 January

13:00 Official opening with a speech by Vice-Chancellor Hans Adolfsson. This will be accompanied by refreshments, a tour of the new premises and a tip walk.

Tuesday 24 January

10:00–12:00 The University Library's bookbindery will be on hand to showcase its craft.

13:00–14:00 UmArts - Examples from on-going research:

• 13.00–13.15 Presentation of UmArts (Ele Carpenter, Director of UmArts)
• 13.15–13.30 Retake/ Reuse. Experiments to reactivate public winter spaces: the winter garden (Maria Luna Nobile & Aejandro Haiek Coll, UMA)
• 13.30–13.45 In the Shadows of Tall Necessities (Annika Eriksson, Umeå Academy of Fine Arts)
• 13.45–14.00 Time for questions

13:00–15:00 Umeå University Library Archives Department - Archives and Special Collections shows material from the collections.

Wednesday 25 January

10:00–12:00 Umeå Student Union will be on hand to talk about their activities and answer questions.

13:00–14:00 Brita Täljedal talks about the Bildmuseet's current and upcoming exhibitions.

13:00–16:00 Umeå Natural Sciences and Technology Union - NTK - will be on hand to talk about its activities and answer questions.

Thursday 26 January

10:00–12:00 ICT Services and System Development

13:00–14:00 Curiosum will be on hand to talk about its activities.

13:00–16:00 Umeå Natural Sciences and Technology Union - NTK - will be on hand to talk about its activities and answer questions.

Friday 27 January

10:00–11:30 Umeå Student Union will be on hand to talk about its activities and answer questions.

12:00–16:00 University Health and the Church on Campus will be on site, informing and answering questions.

17:00 Art Friday at Bildmuseet
