What role do users play during design? In HCI, users have served as inspirations, informants, test persons, or even co-designers. Common design approaches are user-centered design, participatory design, or co-design. We have moved from designing technology for the workplace, to design for our homes and everyday lives. Nowadays, we are living with technology.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is yet another change we have to relate to as humans. The question is, are there any new challenges when designing AI, or can we use the traditional approaches for user involvement during design? This seminar will present some of the key issues when designing interaction technology with and for users. Moreover, suggesting a selection of challenges when applying these design approaches during the design of AI.
