Horizon Europe is EU´s most important program for financing research and innovation with a total budget of 95,5 billion Euro, between 2021-2027. To enable actors within Norrbotten and Västerbotten to take part of this great opportunity for funding and collaboration the well-reputable Monica Schofield has been invited to host two workshops; How to prepare for competitive Horizon Europe proposals and Supporting Horizon Europe applicants.
For: Actors within, or with connection to, the field of Life Science & Health in the region of Norr- and Västerbotten.
The workshops are held in english.
14 June Workshop 1 - How to prepare for competitive Horizon Europe proposals
For: Open for all actors. Such as researchers, healthcare staff, representatives for companies and support functions as well as external funding offices. Both beginners and experienced actors are welcome.
Purpose: To inspire and educate different actors on how to be successful in preparing for proposals and forming a good partnership around a project idea.
During the day we will work with:
Addressing the underlying intentions of Horizon Europe
How proposals are evaluated
Positioning your project
Designing your project to achieve impact
Choosing partners
Making yourself visible
Organising the proposal preparation
Building a convincing narrative
Addressing implementation issues
Discussion of individual and example cases

15 June Workshop 2 - Supporting Horizon Europe applicants
For: Open only for representatives of projectsupport functions. Such as representatives for external funding offices, business coaches and project consultants.
Purpose: To develop support functions to better inspire and prepare actors to apply and participate in Horizon Europe programmes.
During the day we will work with:
Reflection on the role and individual experiences of being a support officer
Strategies for engaging and winning interest
Challenges versus opportunities
Addressing target groups
Defining your role in a proposal development
The proposal process
Developing your network and connections
Influencing future developments
Discussion of specific cases

The workshop, lunch, and networking dinner are free, financed through the SOLH project. For companies, de minimis aid applies. All participants arrange and pay for their own travel and accommodation.

Workshop leader is the well-renowned Monica Schofield, Director of International Cooperation & EU Office at Tutech Innovation GmbH
SOLH Project, Support Office for Life Science & Health, can support researchers, companies and clinicians who want to apply for funding for collaborative projects together with other partners in the field of Life Science.
Parties in this project are the Innovation Office at Umeå University, Region Västerbotten, Umeå University Holding AB and Luleå University of Technology.
The European Regional Development Fund, Region Västerbotten and Umeå municipality co-fund the SOLH project.
