Spinal cord injuries usually affect young people and often lead to lifelong disabilities. Patients are in desperate need of treatment. Lev Novikov has developed methods to bridge the defects after an experimental spinal cord injury with the purpose of stimulating nerve regrowth. This to improve the quality of life of patients, but also to increase insights into the mechanisms of degeneration and regeneration of an injured spinal cord.
Lev Novikov will be installed as a professor of anatomy at the Annual Celebration Ceremony on 20 October at 17:00 in Aula Nordica.
