The Research Seminar Series in Archaeology and Environmental archaeology invites you to a seminar with Dr. Fatemeh Moradi, Umeå University, "From Excavation to Exhibition: The Role of HCI and UX in Data Presentation".

Abstract

In this presentation, we dig deep into the pivotal role of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX) in the realm of data visualization. Specifically, we underscore the significance of adopting a social science perspective to gain deeper insights into the contextual nuances surrounding our results. By doing so, we unlock novel avenues for engaging with our target audience, ultimately enhancing the experiences of users from diverse backgrounds. Throughout the presentation, we engage in a comprehensive discussion on this topic, drawing inspiration from real-world examples such as Nuohtti: Search Portal for Sami Archive Materials (https://www.nuohtti.com/).
