Welcome to an evening event featuring a panel discussion on ethics and sustainability!

Which are the crucial ethical questions that need to be addressed in relation to the goal of sustainability? The panellists give their respective views and discuss how ethical considerations can, should, or must inform sustainability discourse at various levels. The audience is then invited to take part in the discussion.

Panellists:

Kalle Grill, Associate professor at Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies, Umeå University. 

Lars Samuelsson, Associate professor at Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies, Umeå University. 

Anna Wienhues, Postdoctoral Fellow at Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas, University of Oslo. 

Joakim Sandberg, Professor of practical philosophy, University of Gothenburg. 

 

Open keynotes

The panel discussion marks the start of the symposium Sustainability, Ethics, and the Environment NSU Winter Symposium 2024. During the symposium two keynotes will be open to the public. 

11 january 13:15: Sustainability and Human-Nature Relationships - Anna Deplazes Zemp, University of Zürich. 

12 January 13:15: The kaleidoscope and the nesting doll: a re-examination of resilience as a thick concept - Henrik Thorén, Lund University.
