The Research Seminar Series in Archaeology and Environmental archaeology invites you to a seminar with Erik Sandén, Västerbottens museum, “High altitude mountain archaeology in Västerbotten”.
Abstract: High altitude areas of the Swedish mountains are seldom visited by archaeologists. They are hard to reach by foot end expensive to reach by helicopter. Doing fieldwork there can still be rewarding. Finds from melting glaciers and snow patches gives us knowledge about the life in the mountains in prehistoric times but there are also other sites from the mesolithic to the bronze age that need further studies.
