This frAIday session is dedicated to introducing two focus areas: the AI and education focus area and the social AI focus areas. The speaker will briefly discuss what a pedagogical perspective in AI research can contribute with, present ongoing research and lastly, touch upon the issue of ChatGPT and teaching.
Can AI systems account for the social context surrounding them?
Can we better understand social phenomena using AI systems mimicking social behaviors?
How can such tools benefit society? How should they be put in place?
How can AI change educational practices?
Can it open for new methods (chatbots giving instant feedback) but also practices (chatbots allowing to cheat very easily)?
What are the risk and opportunities?
Who will benefit from such changes in the educational system?
