Chemtrails! The Earth is flat! Climate change is a hoax! Vaccines cause autism! You have all heard statements such as these. Perhaps you have even tried to weigh in with your knowledge about the scientific evidence clearly stating that there is no merit to these theories. Still, no matter how the scientific community tries to debate and educate, no scientific arguments seem to counter what seems like an ever-growing phenomenon.
So, what should we do? Is debating worth our time? Is it even possible? Attend the Faculty of Science and Technology’s practical workshop in rhetoric to find out!
Lecturer and workshop leader is associate professor in rhetoric Jon Viklund, Uppsala University. The workshop will take place at Curiosum and includes an immersive show in the dome theatre. The event is open for doctoral students at the Faculty of Science and Technology.
