Welcome to the 50th anniversary celebration of the Demographic Data Base!
On October 25, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of Umeå University's first major research infrastructures, the Demographic Data Base (DDB). We do so with an afternoon filled with exciting presentations and lectures!
When DDB started its operations in 1973, it entered a completely new and uncharted field: using the information-rich Swedish church records to build population databases for research. It was a pioneering effort that has had great significance, both nationally and internationally.
Now we want to celebrate the first 50 years of DDB with a jubilee day!
All interested are welcome to participate during the afternoon, on site in the Humanisthuset or via live broadcast on umu-live. No pre-registration is required.
