Conversation between artist Ann Edholm and museum curator Brita Täljedal in the " Ann Edholm / Tongue of the Tip" exhibition. Language: Swedish
ANN EDHOLM / TONGUE ON THE TIP Ann Edholm wants her paintings to be experienced as an encounter with a human being, direct and physical. Despite their sharply defined geometric shapes, Edholm's imagery is based on human experience and contains cultural and symbolic references. Using oil paint mixed with wax - thinly applied layer upon layer - she imbues her paintings with a physical, bodily materiality.
Ann Edholm (b. 1953) lives and works in Nyköping, Sweden. She was educated at Gerlesborgsskolan and the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm, and is represented in art institutions such as Moderna Museet, the Gothenburg Museum of Art and the Public Art Agency Sweden.
