Description
The course objective is to develop basic knowledge about web programming. Furthermore the aim is to provide knowledge on how dynamical web applications can be used in learning environments.
Course content:
- Script programming for the web (PHP)
- Basic use of databases for the web (MySQL)
- Dynamical websites as a support for flexible learning
- LMS, Learning Management Systems
After the course the student will be able to:
- Perform basic script programming for the web
- Create a simple dynamic website with database connection
- Describe how to plan, conduct and document a dynamical web project
- Create a learning object
- Explain standard and compatibility issues concerning web based applications for learning
- Perform installation and administration of dynamical websites used in net based education
- Use dynamical websites as tools for learning
How the course is conducted
Entry
Continuous entry during semester.
Gatherings
The course is conducted via net communication without gatherings at campus.
Support by teachers
During the course we will use a net based learning platform for guidance, discussions and distribution of course material.
IT-support
The participants of the course need a computer with internet access.
Examination
The course applies continuous examination through written assignments, workshops, participation in seminars, lectures and online conferences as well as a course project.

During the course you will need the following software or similar:
- Program for creating websites, web editors, e.g. Macromedia Dreamweaver, Mozilla Composer
