Contents
The course will give an introduction to chemometrics, i.e., design of experiments and multivariate data analysis. The course comprises the model concept, fit of empirical models to chemical data, statistical experimental design, and projection methods for visualization of multivariate chemical data. The course gives also an introduction to computational chemistry with focus on methods important within environmental chemistry, protein chemistry and medicinal chemistry. The course comprises of lectures, exercises and laboratory work. The final part of the course includes project work with close connections to current research. Here, the gained knowledge in chemometrics and computational chemistry is applied in one of the three areas environmental chemistry, protein chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
This course is a basic course of the Master Programme in Chemistry.
