Contents

To identify sources and effects of environmental pollutants it is necessary to choose appropriate sampling strategies, to do relevant measurements and to interpret the results. This course deals with all steps of the analytical procedure applied in environmental investigations and remedial actions. By problem-based learning the student obtains theoretical and practical knowledge of sampling, sample treatment and analysis as well as of quality assurance, evaluation and interpretation of data. Measurements and modelling of ultra-trace amounts of inorganic, organometallic and organic substances in different types of environments and in organisms are important elements of the course. The course is part of the national masters programme "Swedish School of Environmental Chemistry", but can also be taken as a separate course. (Environmentally labelled course).
