Contents
The course aims at understanding various interactions between atoms/molecules and electromagnetic radiation with application to IR, Raman, as well as UV/VIS absorption and emission spectroscopy. Applications focus on structure and dynamics of biomacromolecules, nanoparticles, fibrous materials and minerals. In laboratory exercises the student gets familiar with the principal construction and use of advanced spectroscopic equipment. The student's educational background is considered in choosing appropriate laboratory exercises.
