Contents

The course gives the student an opportunity to, through a number of media - partly independently but also in groups - develop design tools, knowledge and skills with focus on conclusions and results of various design activities. The student will have opportunity to formulate a personal process, which can be individually adapted, with the help of these activities and tools - which takes place in a constant reflection on the future professional role. In course sections, the student should anchor the design process using contemporary design problems through project work, all of which have user perspective as a starting point. In these projects, all done in cooperation with external partners, feedback is given from the companies or organizations on the student's performance and process.

Visual presentation, 4,5 ECTS
We introduce image processing in software programs for computer and related equipment for the presentation of the written and visual material. In the course will be able to train themselves to reflect on the visual material they worked with.
The students will further develop their individual portfolio and transfer it to different relevant media

Design project 1, 7,5 ECTS
The goal is that students should train themselves to independently develop their ability to work methodically with complex design-related problems in reality and future perspectives. Students practice to work in groups and with representatives from industry, state and local government. In the project, students practice basic methods in the design process as well as training to work with the product, function and activity analysis. The course trains students to work creatively, their ability to work methodically design and work creatively and communicatively with sketch and model technology. Tutoring is done with active industrial designer.

Verbal and visual communication, 4,5 ECTS
We work with image processing software programs for computer and related equipment for the presentation of the written and visual material. In the course will be able to train themselves to reflect on the visual material they worked with.

Artistic process 1, 1.5 ECTS
The student's artistic ability to be stimulated and trained with the support of various artistic expressions and practices.

Design project 2, 9 ECTS
In the module, students work in project form with a contemporary complex design problems. The project is implemented in cooperation with external parties for example from industry or government. Students work individually and in groups. modelling.

Design for the future, 3.0 ECTS
The module has a focus on the skills and abilities can be trained to be prepared for future social and professional development and change. Students will reflect on the strengths and weaknesses in their design process.
The elements are also included to reflect on how design projects are communicated to an understanding of an anonymous observer in a public exhibition.
