Contents
The course gives an introduction to modeling/simulation/analysis, with an emphasis on the first two parts. The contents of the course include direct simulations of discrete-time models (e.g. cellular atomata), event based simulations (both in queueing system and as a method to speed up discrete time models), methods to solve ordinary differential equations, and a short introduction to Markov chain Monte Carlo. There is a strong emphasis on applications and implementations, both with Matlab and with programs that link to numerical libraries.
