The aim of the course is that the student will obtain knowledge about how to design an embedded system running Linux.
The course deals with how to analyze the hardware in the system so that the correct configuration can be installed. A development environment is created and used to design some practical applications.
Required Knowledge
Electronics 45 ECTS of which Computer engineering I, 7.5 ECTS and Linux development environment, 7.5 ECTS or Computing science 30 ECTS of which C programming and unix, 7.5 ECTS, Computer engineering, 7.5 ECTS and Embedded systems, 7.5 ECTS or equal.
English proficiency equivalent to IELTS Academic Training - minimum score 5.0 with no individual score below 4.5. Tests taken before January 2005 not admissible or TOEFL - minimum score 500 on paper based test and not below 4.0 on the TWE, Alternatively 173 on computer based test with iBT61 is also required as well as basic entrance requirements for higher studies in Swedish language proficiency if the course is taught in Swedish.
