Examination modes

The examination is done by a written examination (for the theoretical part) and by a number compulsory projects which are performed in groups. The written examination is graded by Fail (U), Pass (3), Good Pass (4) or Exellent (5). The projects are graded by individual grades, either by the grades Fail (U) or Pass (G) or by the grades Fail (U), Pass (3), Good Pass (4) or Exellent (5). The complete course is graded by the grades Fail (U), Pass (3), Good Pass (4) or Exellent (5). In order to pass the course all the written exams and compulsory projects must be graded Pass. The final grade is set by weighting all the parts of the examination and is set when all the compulsory parts are completed with a grade of Pass, at least. Single project parts which are not graded Pass at the end of the course but are estimated to be completed in a certain time period might be handed in later with a due time decided together with the responsible teacher of the course. Individual students who have not passed the course by the end of the course, but have actively participated in the project parts might have an extra problem to solve. Students who have not taken part in all the compulsory projects get the grade Fail (U). Students who have not passed the course in ordinary time will have two more re-examination possibilities.
