Contents
The goal of the course is to give a theoretical foundation and understanding of mobile and wireless networks and communication. The theory consists of capacity analysis based on modeling, simulation and optimization, as well as protocol studies and its complexity. The course treats systems as cellular networks (e.g. GPRS, UMTS), local wireless networks (802.11, HyperLan), short range communication (e.g. Bluetooth,). Special studies of IP techniques such as TCP over wireless networks, real-time communication, network construction including Mobile IP, and routing algorithms for ad-hoc networks are important topics of the course.
