Molecular Biology: Second cycle, has only first-cycle course/s as entry requirements
Grading scale: Pass with distinction, Pass with merit, Pass, Pass with distinction, Pass, Fail
Responsible department: Department of Plant Physiology
Contents
The aim of the course is to provide a theoretical underpinning of the
techniques used in functional genomics, i.e. a large-scale analysis of the function of different gene products within an organism. Insights will be given into the new information that will be generated from whole genome analysis. The course will cover the following concepts: genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. Also covered are robotization, miniaturization and high-throughput-screening.
Required Knowledge
One 15-ECTS credits advanced level courses in Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Immunology or Plant Cell and Molecular Biology.
