The course focus is on human activities that have had a major impact on the environment, historically and currently. The complexity of environmental and developmental issues is discussed within a global context. The meaning of the global challenge is discussed continuously, focusing on the roles of the individual and the society in obtaining a globally sustainable development. The course is based on a series of lectures from different scientific disciplines and is largely managed by students
