Contents
The course is given for exchange students within the dentistry and dental hygienist programmes.
The content and the structure of the dentistry and dental hygienist programmes. The organisation of the Swedish dental care and its' commission from the society. Auscultation in the dental care. Visiting students’ presentation of the dentistry or dental hygienist programme and the organisation of the dental care in their home country.
Expected learning outcomes
The following learning outcomes should be achieved and on completion of the course, the student should have demonstrated: Knowledge and understanding
knowledge regarding the content and structure of the dentistry programme or the dental hygienist programme in Umeå
knowledge regarding how the students clinical treatment is organised at Umeå University
knowledge regarding the Swedish dental care as well as of parts of the research that is performed at the Department of Odontology, Umeå university.
Skills and ability
ability to present the content and the structure of the dentistry programme or the dental hygienist programme at their home university
ability to comprehensively describe the home country’s organisation of the dental care
Required Knowledge
The student must study at a dentistry programme or a dental hygienist programme outside of Sweden.
Form of instruction
The education is given through lectures, seminars, auscultations and training. Examining seminars are mandatory elements.
Examination modes
Examination through active participation in seminars and through presenting the organisation of the dental care and the content and structure of the dentistry programme or the dental hygienist programme in the home country.
Other regulations
Health certificate concerning multi resistant bacteria has to be shown before the auscultations.
