Contents
During this course you will increase your knowledge about the effect of diet on physical performance. Among other things we will discuss strategies for increased oxidation of fat during endurance training, preparation before training, competition and recovery, adaption when exercising in extreme environments and also how the immune system is influenced by exercise. The course includes a project work where you explore a sport of your choice in depth.
Required Knowledge
Univ: Food and Nutrition A and B or the equivalent and Physiology 15 hp.
English proficiency equivalent to IELTS Academic Training minimum score 5.0 with no individual score below 4.5 (Tests taken before January 2005 not admissible or TOEFL minimum score 500 on paper based test and not below 4.0 on the TWE, Alternatively 173 on computer based test with iBT61 is also required as well as basic entrance requirements for higher studies in Swedish language proficiency if the course is taught in Swedish.
