Web 2.0 is a term that describes a development that significantly altered the way information is created, processed and shared among users. A characteristic of social media is the focus on user interaction and such applications offer a rich environment for communication and thereby becomes a platform for exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge.
The student is given the opportunity to immerse themselves in how modern web applications and social media can be used to support and develop collaboration, flow of information and learning processes. Furthermore, the course will discuss the next generation of web applications and services in relation to educational needs and business development.
The course includes
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
Basic eligibility. The course content corresponds to parts of the course Social Software and Web 2.0, 15 hp and can therefore not be included in a degree with that course.
Teaching is done remotely with IT support in the form of lectures, seminars, labs and projects individually or in groups. During the course, a web-based learning environment is used for instruction, discussion and distribution of course materials.
Examination takes the form of written, oral and digital presentations. In the assessment for the entire course is graded Distinction, Pass or Fail. The rating is an overall assessment of the results of examinations of different parts and put out when all compulsory parts are approved.
For Pass students must be able to independently focus on different perspectives and experiences in a reflective and analytical approach.
Students who have the right to re-examination. A retest will be offered within three months of regular examination, however, will re-test offered earlier than ten working days after the results of the regular test was given and a copy of the student's exam is available. Moreover, at least one more re-examinations offered within one year from the regular examination called the collection samples. In cases where the test or compulsory course elements can not be repeated under the current rules for retesting it may instead be replaced with another task. The scope and content of such information shall be in proportion to the missed compulsory element. The student has the right to be examined two years after initial registration for the course. Students who fail twice have the right to the Faculty of Social Sciences to request another examiner.
Evaluation is done on completion of course.
