Contents

In the course theoretical and practical grounds for different ways of working within the performing art field are presented. During the course the students work independently and in groups under supervision.

Expected learning outcomes

After completing the course the student should be able to

*    report practical and theoretical grounds within the performing art field
*    work with different methods and processes in the performing art field
*    present a piece of artistic work, in the performing art field, in seminar and/or in an exhibition
*    oral and/or written describe your own working processes within the performing art field.

Required Knowledge

Apart from meeting the general entry requirements for studies at first cycle or undergraduate level, applicants need to have a proficiency in English equivalent to the Swedish upper secondary course English B/6. Form of instruction

The course is conducted in the form of classes, seminars and individual work under supervision. In seminars and group supervision, the artistic work performed during the course is discussed and presented.

The gender perspective is an important part of education and the course is conducted in such a way that both women and men's experiences, knowledge, history and the importance of this is made visible and put into perspective both theoretically and practically. The course is also conducted in such a way that sustainability is made visible as an aspect of artistic practice and is also noticed both theoretically and practically.

Teaching is in English.

Special written material may be distributed during the course.

Examination modes

During the course the student is continuously examined by assessing in seminars where artistic work is presented and discussed orally both individually and in groups. The course is also examined in other ways by presentation of an artistic work produced during the course.

In the course the grades Pass or Fail are used. For students who have not been approved at the regular exam opportunity, a further exam opportunity will be arranged within three months as well as a sampling test within one year.

A student who has passed regular examinations and a re-examination for a course or part of a course has the right to have another examiner appointed at the next re-examination if no special reason is against it. The request for this is made to the Faculty of Arts. Students have the right to be tested on the same syllabus as in regular tests on at least two occasions up to two years after the first registration.
