Contents
The course is an introductory overview of artistic work and professional practice in today's society and the different areas that artists are active in. The course presents an overview of the economic, legal and practical conditions of the artistic profession. Moreover, special attention lies on questions about copyright and ethical issues relating to artistic design work in the field of Fine Arts.
Expected learning outcomes
After completing the course the student should be able to
demonstrate basic knowledge of the economic, legal and practical conditions for artistic professionals, as well as
demonstrate the ability to make assessments of Fine Arts with regard to social and ethical aspects.
Required Knowledge
A prerequisite for the course is that all courses from the first two years of studies are completed and approved, alternatively if you apply to later part of the programme or as an exchange student; you have completed corresponding courses (120 ECTS) from another recognised school of Fine Arts and your work samples that you applied with are approved. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English B/6.
Form of instruction
Instruction consists of seminars, lectures and practical exercises. Sure written material distributed during the course.
The language of instruction is largely English but if all students in the course, as well as the teacher holding the course, are Swedish-speaking, the language of instruction can be Swedish.
Examination modes
The course is assessed continuously in seminars where the outcome of individual tasks are presented written and / or oral. Grading system: Pass or Fail.
