(This course provides a survey of central theories and methodological approaches in English literature, with emphasis on developments within the last century. Course study will include an examination of how various theoretical perspectives affect literary interpretation as well as the relationship between method and results. This course is recommended for students who will later write an advanced level essay in English literature.)
Required Knowledge
Univ: 90 credits in the academic subjects English, French, Spanish, German or Scandinavian studies/equivalent knowledge with a focus on the Nordic languages (Swedish/Danish/Norwegian) and literature/culture as the main area (90 credits). Courses in English, French, Spanish, German or Scandinavian studies must include literature at the C-level (corresponding to level 61-90 hp in the Swedish academic system). Or 90 credits in the academic subject Comparative Literature.
