A few words about your current work tasks and responsibilities:
Main working areas:
Integrating the new CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) into the existing reporting structure
Responsibility regarding Health & Safety as well as environmental data on group level
Actively supporting the HR and Sustainability team fulfil responsibilities and improve/optimize processes
Main working tasks:
For my main responsibility (CSRD) I created workshops with the group functions to see which impacts, risks and opportunities Bulten has on the standards ESG topics. Thereafter, I had to create a rating scale for these impacts, risks and opportunities as well as visually present them to the Sustainability manager , the executive management team and the board. I am now looking into combining the company’s financial BI system with our financial analysis approach, to finalise the double materiality analysis approach.
Other tasks include a gap analysis of our current Sustainability report to what we have to report according to CSRD
Furthermore, I prepare and present the monthly H&S and environmental reporting data as well as automise the documents necessary
I am also currently working on implementing CBAM (import taxes on carbon emissions from goods into the EU), thereby informing myself about the legislation, creating information and sharing that through presentations to other functions in order to report on these topics. Furthermore, I guide and support the other facilities in retrieving and preparing data.
A few words about your career. Where you started after graduation and how your career has progressed? This is my first job after graduating last year from Umeå University. I ended up at the Sustainability department, but I have the feeling that this is exactly where I want to be and I also frequently use my Finance /Accounting knowledge for my everyday tasks in my job as a Sustainability Controller.
Any advice you would like to give to current students? Start looking into global trends and researching upon areas of own interest outside of university courses, investing time to think about what job fits you in the future and applying to jobs early.
